The Restaurant

From 1989 La Diligence is a Lebanese gastronomy site that can not be ignored at Crans Montana. A well known address within local people as well as foreign guests connoisseurs in that cuisine after tasting it in restaurants around London, Paris or Beyrouth.

We also offer a traditional menu as well as specialities like "Chapeau Tartare" and "Couscous Royal" that already made our home reputation from so long.

At spring and summer time, once the sunshine comes, our guests can enjoy our own fruit and vegetables that grow in our potager. Even if nature can be capricious, rasperries are always on time when july arrives. Lunch or dinner are served in our terrace, wheter winter or summer, as far as the weather allows it.

Wines

Our wine list pays particular attention on Valais region crus, with references evolve along the vintage wines according to tastings at the local producers. Those local wines suit with pleasure with Mediterranean food. However, we offer you a great choice of Lebanese wines, from the mythical Domain of Château Musar, Château Ksara (the ancient caves of Jesuits’ domain date from 1857) and of course, from Château Kefraya. Some other high-quality domains, more recently created, like Domaine de Baal or Couvent Rouge,  are also present.

The French have so much contributed to the work quality’s improvement as well in vineyard. Nevertheless. Lebanon was already producing wine 4000 years ago. Byblos was actually a trade center where the ships left mainly to Egypt. We may then talk about Ancient World wines. Some local white grape variety, such as merwah or obaideh, are more than one-thousand-years old.
Lebanese vineyards take profit from an argillaceous-calcareous soil, a very dry clima and a lot of sun. They are cultivated up within 800 (2624 ft) and 1500 m (4921 ft) altitude, a particular circumstance that compensate the country’s geographic location.
